Does it work?? Nair Hair Removal Cream

Hello everyone and welcome back to Oh Elizabeth! So exciting post today as I was trying out a new product and thought I’d share it with you all!

Shaving is so damn annoying. It grows back too quick and if you have sensitive skin like mine it can be really irritating to the skin. Epilating is way too painful and even waxing is pretty scary for me. I’ve never had much luck with hair removal cream. I tried one by Veet years ago on my legs and it gave me a really bad reaction and I never wanted to use it again.

However, Nair sent me some products and I thought why not try them as I’m really sick and tired of shaving. So yeah disclaimer, these products were sent to me for free, but they were just sent to me to try. I didn’t get paid or anything and they didn’t even ask me to write a blog post. I just thought it would be a helpful post. So as always, this is my honest review of the products.

In this lovely box, I got two products and some coupons and leaflets and such for some more details! It’s important to carry out a small test on an area of skin 24hours before use to make sure you don’t have any nasty allergic reactions. Also, make sure to follow the instructions carefully and don’t leave the product on any longer than the instructions say.

The first product I want to talk about is the Nair Tough Hair Removal Cream. I thought this tube being so big, 200ml it would be quite expensive but it’s really not. I looked it up and it’s £6.19 in Boots and Superdrug currently have an offer on where it’s half price at £3.08 so that’s insanely cheap! So this product can be used on legs, bikini line and also your underarms. I applied the cream and left it on for 5 minutes. The box says do not leave it on for any longer than 15 minutes, so 5-10 minutes is advised. I love Nair‘s slogan ‘Tough On Hair, Gentle On Skin’ and unlike the Veet one I tried, this one didn’t irritate my skin which was fab! And it actually removed the hair unlike the Veet one too. I was surprised by how quick it worked and it got rid of all my hairs leaving my legs feeling super soft. I’d rate this product a 4/5. It was really great and did remove my unwanted body hair without irritation. It also kept the hair away for a few days which is much better than shaving. However, it could but even smoother and softer to push it to that 5 if I’m being super picky. I’d maybe try leaving it on a little longer next time as I only did 5 minutes, not the full 10. But I really loved it and it’s a fab alternative to shaving and I will continue to use this product.

Being a fake tan wearer, I see this also being a lot easier than shaving. All you need to do this make sure you do your hair removal 24hours before applying your tan like usual. You can also try exfoliating before hair removal, and this will allow your tan to go on a lot smoother.

It’s now three days after I first used this product, and the hair is starting to grow back. I have a little stubble on my legs which isn’t that noticeable to really see but if you rub my leg it’s a little prickly. Considering the usual crazy rate my hair grows after shaving, I’m super happy with this hair removal cream and will continue to use it. For me, it’s perfect. I’m lazy and hate shaving, so I have to do this less. And also it was so nice to not have lots of razor bumps and irritated skin.

The second product I received is the Nair Upper Lip Hair Removal Cream. These box comes with two products, a hair remover and also a moisturiser to use afterwards which is fab. This product is £5.55 and again Superdrug currently has half price on so its £2.76 from there which again, fab deal. This is my favourite product and I will definitely continue to use this. I normally wax my upper lip which can be really difficult to do. Compared this was so so easy and it takes like 3 minutes so it’s super quick to do before a shower or whatever. This worked so well at getting rid of the hair and with the moisturiser to use afterwards it leaves your skin so nice. I’d rate this product a solid 5/5! It does everything that I’d want and need and I will continue to use this product.

I’d also note the scent on both of these creams, not a pleasant smell by no means by this is not anywhere near as smelly as other hair removal creams for sure!

Both products were a lot cheaper than I expected too. I googled the prices for them after using them and I expected the Body hair removal cream to be at least like £8 for the size of it. Also considering like how expensive wax strips can be and also even razors are like between £3-8 for only a few of them. If you’re interested in trying these products also don’t forget they are half price at the moment on Superdrug, I don’t know how long that offer is on for.

Overall I’m super impressed with these Nair products. They were a lot more effective than I thought they’d be and I will continue to use them. Thank you to Nair for the package. I have some £1.50 discount vouchers which you can use at Superdrug, Tesco, Boots, and Sainsbury’s, so if I know you and you would like to try the products discounted just ask for one!

haha I tried the upper lip one and it did not go as planned for me! 😭 I ended up with a chemical burn! I’m guessing I left it on too long or that I just have super sensitive skin. I’m so sad, because I know it works to remove hair so well!

That’s so annoying! I definitely recommend doing a patch test before using anything like this as it is chemical based! The upper lip one was done for me in just 3 minutes so you don’t need to leave it on long at all. Sorry it didn’t work for you, but thank you for reading x
