I’ve seen that Birchbox subscriptions are very popular amongst the beauty community so I thought I’d see what all the fuss is about and order one for myself…

Birchbox is a monthly subscription service for beauty lovers in which you receive a box each month full of beauty goodies. It’s brilliant for those of you who love to try out new products and explore different brands. It’s important to bear in mind that most of the products are only sample sizes, not full sized products. Which in some cases is not as great as it’s only a little bit of product.

But on the other hand it’s great to get a feel for the products and see if they work for you before buying a more pricer full sized item. And these aren’t just random products they’re all from reliable and known names so you’re paying for the brand too. And for the price of £10.00 a box (+ £2.95 P&P) you really can’t go wrong.

I would like to note that I had a little dispute on delivery. I’d been waiting for my box to come for a lot longer than the delivery time given and my tracking code wasn’t seeming to update so I was rather confused where my parcel had got to. After finally getting an email response from my query to Birchbox, my box had actually gone missing and never made it to the courier. However they were happy to send out a replacement box which came not too long after. It was just a bit of a pain waiting for it to arrive and trying to resolve the situation.

amika | Perk Up Dry Shampoo

RRP £20.00 for full size

anatomicals | softening eucalyptus foot cream

RRP £3.00

Benefit Cosmetics | Cha Cha Tint Lip & Cheek Stain

RRP £25.50 for full size

Balance Me | Flash Cleanse Micellar Water

RRP £16.00 for full size

There was also an Eyebrow Brush in the box worth £1.99 by Birchbox. And with a free coupon code I received…

NailsInc | NailKale Varnish

RRP £15.00

“NailKale is the first superfood nail range made with kale extract for stronger, smoother healthier nails.”

The final verdict!… Personally I wasn’t absolutely amazed by the contents of my box. I mean for £10 the box is pretty good value but I felt like out of the selection of products I kinda got the worser ones. If it wasn’t for the nail varnish the value of the box would be pretty low. The box and contents were a little smaller than I expected. But maybe that was just wishful thinking!

Keep your eye open for a review post on these items which I will be doing once I’ve got to use the products and get an opinion on them!
